Tips on Buying Fresh Flowers in Store
Based on our experience, here are some floral advice and tips when buying flowers for yourself or that special someone:
PLAN AHEAD
Before you make your decision, when buying fresh cut flowers for yourself or that special someone, you should consider the following:
- Are there any flowers that the recipient likes, dislikes, or is allergic to?
- If you don't know the specific flowers, what colours do you think the recipient would like?
- How long will your cut flowers be sitting in your car/house before you deliver them to the recipient? If the flowers will be out of water for an extended period of time, we can set your flowers in floral foam or you may select one of our vases/bring in your own vase and we can arrange the flowers in the vase for you.
Floral tip 1. It is never a good idea to keep the fresh cut flowers in a hot car/solarium for a long time as the flowers will wilt from the heat.
Floral tip 2. In the winter, we will wrap our fresh flowers well before you leave our store to protect the flowers from the cold temperatures. However, wilting will also occur if the fresh flowers are frozen and then brought back inside so be mindful of where you have the flowers before bringing them home or gifting them.
As you come to the shop you'll notice we have a selection of pre-arranged fresh flower arrangements in our walk-in cooler.
Floral tip 3. If you're not in a hurry, we'll be more than happy to craft a brand new fresh flower arrangement or bouquet from any combination of fresh flowers you may choose from our walk-in flower cooler.
Important Note - We'll let you know when you can expect your arrangement to be ready and we'll do our best to accommodate your order to reduce your wait time. However, wait times may be extended if we are really busy, like on major holidays such as Valentine's Day or Mother's Day.
